“Love is messy, painful and emotionally draining. It hardly seems worth it.”
From New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton, the first in a brand-new romance series telling the humorously sexy tale of Roxie, a private chef who gets a taste of love—but is it to stay, or to go?
After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she’s back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?

Ladies, romance junkies, hopeless romantics and lovers of sexy men, set aside whatever you are doing and read this book! It will be worth your time, I promise. This book has such fun leads with interesting personalities that mesh well together that reading became an absolute joyful experience. There are a ton of laugh-out-loud moments, swoon worthy scenarios and surprisingly touching scenes. This has all the elements you would want in your romance book…… and so much more!
First of all, Leo is a total man-babe. He is very charming and I am 100% sure you will fall in love with him too. He isn’t all good looks and hot physique. He has a huge heart too and a totally capable man. Roxie is the best-est. She is super funny without trying to be and she may have unlikable characteristics but you will appreciate her more for this because she is being honest and up front (I mentioned this because one of my pet peeves is a lying/deceitful hero/heroine).
This book also offers a vivid small town setting and plenty of delicious food recipes! The minor characters are all wonderful as well. In fact, I cannot wait to read about the next book as it features two of the minor characters you will surely love and adore.
After this, Alice Clayton has become one of my favorite writers. She penned Wallbanger, first book in Cocktail series (also her most popular work), which is a favorite of mine. Said book has many installments but I didn’t have the urge to read the rest of the series because the minor characters didn’t interest me enough. So why am I saying this? It’s because with Nuts, I felt the opposite. Immediately after knowing about Oscar (a minor character and also a farmer), I wanted to read his book that instant! So imagine my agony after knowing that it will be out July next year. ;(
So hurry and bump this one up your TBR!
